Just no. Delapidated house. Staff unhelpful in any way. Light did not work in room. No hand towels in toilet. There is no breakfast. There was a kettle with no way to fill it. There was torn open boxes of cereal but no bowls. It should be shut down. A dirty disgusting dump.. It does not have Wi-Fi as advertise Evergreen house needs to be closed down it is so bad Its not fit for its purpose. Do not stay at Evergreen House. Do not be conned by the photographs, they do not represent this accommodation.
They were probably taken about 5 years ago by the previous owner. The garden is overgrown, and the accommodation is of a terrible standard. I have reported this to the Youghal Tourist Board. Breakfast is not English or Irish its help yourself. Do not be conned into paying cash because that is what they will ask for. My room was damp and dirty, give this place a wide berth. We went there with my parents, we booked two rooms, some people did some hard noices until 3 am, impossible to sleep,there was some blood in our door room on the morning What can I say That was the worst night of my life!
Booked accommodation through booking. Upon arrival was met by someone who had no idea what was going on, told to wait whilst some phone calls were made, only to be told the place was fully booked and they didn't have the room available as promised. Put us in quite the predicament at 9. Booked through booking. Nothing fancy as it was only 40 euro but we though tit would be clean and it was only for 1 night.
The moment I saw the house I knew it was going to be bad. We were greeted by a woman who had poor English and a very bad smell. We had to pay upfront. There were people over having drinks and smoking in the staff only area. The room was dirty and I didn't want to sleep there but after checking, everywhere else in town was fully booked.
We left without breakfast as it smelled terrible. After we paid we didn't see any staff at all. I will only stay in a hotel now as they have to have certain standards.
